Happy New Year!

I have pictures of a really cute altered art project that I made, but I don't have them downloaded yet - I promise soon! I really just wanted to update since it's been a while. This holiday has seemed to go by really quickly, though it hasn't been normal at all. So far I haven't travelled anywhere except for up to Dallas. We are headed down to Corpus Christi on Friday for my cousin's wedding. I have an idea in mind for her card, and will try to remember to take pictures of it. Sorry that I seem to be rambling this morning. I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday. May the new year bring you joy, love, and laughter!

Secret PAL Gifts

We have a class at my school that chooses to give us teachers small gifts over about a two week period. We don't have to give one back, but of course I am. We are only allowed to know if we have a girl or boy giving us our gifts. They will reveal themselves during a breakfast the last week before Christmas break. I have a girl as my "Secret PAL" which is great because I'm able to make her several of the cute things I've seen on your blogs. I'm trying to keep everything matching. A while back I had found some beautiful Basic Grey papers that all coordinate. The ones I've chosen for my PAL are in the Romani series. Here's what I've made so far and I will update when I get the other projects made.

Her first gift was one of the Post-It Note Holders made with my new BIA (which I have fallen in love with!).

And her next gift is an assortment of things because I wanted to make some of the bookmarks.

KWerner Color Inspiration #32

Along with all of this new virtual stuff, I have made a card for this week's color inspiration challenge. It worked very well with me making all of my christmas cards yesterday and today (though I have forgotten a few so looks like tomorrow too). This one is for a very special man in my life so it's simple and to the point. I tried to get the colors as close to the Stampin' Up colors as I could. I used a cream background, dark tan and red cardstock, red and silver ink and a red ribbon.

Paper Sorter

Okay, so I haven't quite gotten the pictures of my cards taken, so I decided to practice uploading pictures of another project. I'm a teacher and I needed some way to keep the student's papers separated by class periods. I found a couple of clear plastic things that work great. Except that they're clear and you could see grades, and that isn't supposed to happen. So I decided to fix that. I spray painted them with the plastic spray paint and then stamped them with the Priceless set. The paint is maroon and the ink to stamp is a moonlight white (very pretty and iridescent). Then I went over the whole thing with clear to seal it all. I am very pleased with the way they turned out.

Hello Blog land!

Okay, so I'm completely new to this (as if you couldn't tell already). One of my best friends has a blog and she's inspired me to make one of my own too. I have been spending my time over this Thanksgiving holiday making my christmas cards. Once I get a few pictures taken and figure out how to post them I will. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
